PAL Volunteer Opportunities
PAL PRESIDENT – Ongoing. Organize monthly meetings, publicize, set, publish meeting agendas, run meetings and have overall responsibility to ensure projects are on track.
PAL Vice President – Ongoing. Introduce new families to PAL. Facilitate committee chair jobs and their communications with PAL.
PAL Treasurer – Ongoing. Spearhead budget creation, track PAL finances and report to PAL at monthly meetings.
PAL Secretary – Ongoing. Take notes on each meeting and publish within a week. Do weekly emails, This Week.
PAL General Members
Parent Education – Research/recruit and coordinate parent education classes for families at ACC and promote events. 4 times a year.
Assist teachers with phone tree and special class requests. Creates networking to support classroom families. Varies – 1-3 hrs. a month.
Book Orders – Distribute fliers and collect orders for Scholastic books. 3 hours a month.
Disaster Preparedness Drill – Monitor the drill the day of the event. Ensure inventory supplies before event are appropriate.3-6 hours.
School Beautification – Will volunteer on special projects as they arise such as beautification of property, garden days, maintenance, tech issues. As needed (approx. 1 hr. per mo.)
Community Dinner – In January – A celebration of our diversity and community – dinner and entertainment.
Teacher Appreciation – May or June – Event for Teachers and Staff -Organize, create and promote a themed event in appreciation of the teachers.
Start in February 1 – 2 hrs. per month.
Family Camp-Out – July – Event at ACC for families. Organize, promote and handle logistics. Start in June 1-2 hrs.
Family Picnic – August – Picnic for families at Farnsworth. Secure venue, organize and handle logistics. Start in July 1-2 hrs.
T-Shirt Sales – Promote t-shirt sales to new families and at family events. Order and distribute. Ongoing. 1 hr. per mo.
Identify, promote and track scrip programs to families to raise additional funds.
On-going. 1-3 hrs. per mo.
Sales – Promote, order, distribute, track and collect money for various items.
Restaurant Nights – Find restaurants that contribute to non-profits, arrange a family night for ACC and promote event.Ongoing. 1-3 hrs. per month.
Trike-A-Thon – March – Organize event to raise $ by pledges given for laps children ride.
Start in January – 1-5 hrs. per month.
Major Fundraiser – April – Work with ACC Board to determine best way to raise money, create, organize and handle logistics. Start in January – 1-5 hrs. per mo.
Handy Parents – Ongoing – Assists with ongoing upkeep and/or improvements to ACC’s physical facility. Varies as needed.
Technology – Ongoing – Assists with ACC’s technology needs in the classroom and office. Varies as needed.
